If you’re reading this, you probably care about two things: giving your guests a 5-star experience, and reclaiming your own time.

I understand both intimately.

My journey to KoruStay wasn’t a straight line. I’m a “Process Improvement” obsessive (Lean/Agile/Six Sigma) originally from Whakatane, New Zealand. (If you are visiting from overseas, ask a local how to pronounce that correctly—it’s a rite of passage that usually ends in giggles!).

I’ve spent a career helping businesses fix broken systems. But my heart has always been in the Far North of Aotearoa.

The idea for KoruStay didn’t start in a boardroom. It started on the deck of my holiday home in Coopers Beach(Doubtless Bay).

As a host, I loved the guests, but I hated the inefficiencies. Answering the same questions about WiFi codes and coffee spots at 9 PM on a Friday. I realised that the “traditional” welcome book—whether a sticky binder or a PDF—was broken. It was static, hard to update, and uninspiring.

I couldn’t help myself. I had to fix it.

I combined my background in tech operations with my life as a host to build something robust. I didn’t want a “wrapper” around generic AI; I wanted a tool that understood local context.

Our Philosophy: Community-Led, Data-Driven

KoruStay is unique because it is built with our hosts, not just for them. Our roadmap is driven by our user community—you vote on features, and we build them.

Today, KoruStay is a global platform, but the mission remains personal: To handle the “business” of hosting so you can focus on the “joy” of welcoming.

Meet the Real Bosses

While I handle the code and the strategy, the real supervisors are Lily and Ollie (pictured below). They ensure the “nap-ability” of our furniture remains high and that we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
